Athenian leverages its smaller size, and its partners’ experience, network and geography to achieve superior returns. Our firm’s Partners have backgrounds in Information Technology and Life Sciences and we invest exclusively in these industry sectors. Using our networks, developed over the last twenty years, our partners have access to both smaller, high quality regional deals which we often lead that are too small for larger national firms, as well as nationally syndicated deals led by well known first-tier venture funds. This approach gives us access to overlooked, less competitive investing opportunities of better value, complemented by access to larger, sometimes later stage deals with deep pocketed co-investors. With Partners on the West coast, the East coast and in the Midwest, Athenian is involved in the nation’s important venture markets and has made venture capital investments in each region. Each of Athenian’s four Funds has been invested according to this unique strategy.
