WILLIAM E. TANNER, CPA |
He is the founder and Managing Principal of Strategic Financial Management (1996-present), a consulting firm that provides financial and operational management services to technology-based start-up companies on a part-time, contractual basis; he has directly assisted over a dozen companies in the areas of financial planning, raising capital and negotiating mergers and acquisitions. From 1988-1996, Mr. Tanner served as Chief Financial Officer of three technology companies Symix Systems, Progenitor and Salesoft. From 1982-1988, he was the Controller of Scientific Advances, Inc., a venture capital firm focused on early-stage technology companies. During 1980-1982, Mr. Tanner was a staff accountant at the accounting firm of Peat Marwick Mitchell (now KPMG). A Certified Public Accountant, Mr. Tanner received his BSBA in Accounting from The Ohio State University and his MBA from the University of Minnesota. |
Mr. Tanner, 53 yrs, joined Athenian as its contract-Chief Financial Officer in 2003, and was acting CFO from 2002 to 2007 for Manta Media (formerly ECNext), an Athenian portfolio company. He has 30 years experience in accounting and in financial and operations management with technology-related businesses.
